About this deal

One caveat though is I do think this book is aimed at a younger audience as character motivations don’t get too deep and the end leans into near fan fiction at times, but i recommend it all the same. But when he finds Spidey's suit abandoned in an alley, he winds up taking up the mantle while Spiderman is among the missing. A wide array of Spidey heroes and villains crop up in this but all are used perfectly so it never feels overstuffed or that the author has added characters for the sake of it. Spider-Man helps the old lady pick up her dropped groceries, and swings off as nearby civilians praise him. The bullies leave and Toby walks out, Yu attempts to apologize to Toby feeling guilty for not attempting to help him.

And even though the series got cancelled, as far as I’m concerned, I desperately hope the story will continue some day. All being said though this book is the most realised the Spider-Man mythos and character has been done CORRECTLY in forever in the comic book format, probably since Bendis’s work on Miles Morales, so Marvel should be taking notes. stars, rounding down until I get my own physical copy of this so I can re-read again in print and see if it should be bumped up to the full five. We start off with a very tired, defeated, sad looking Spiderman, dropping and throwing away his suit in an alley. The premise is an average teen (who rock climbs, so maybe not THAT average) happens upon Spidey's suit and dons it, with the predictable results. One day however, he finds a well-made Spider-Man outfit thrown into the trash, and decides to take it home with him to mess around with.

Fake Red gives readers that similar type of situation and wish fulfillment to Yu, who faces the pressure and expectations from his father and himself. He has never thought of himself as a hero until he finds Spider-man's costume and Spider-man is missing. He puts the costume on and pretends to be the Wall Crawler until he comes face-to-face with the responsibility and the power that Spider-Man carries.

Brainwashed and Crazy: What happened to Peter Parker: he was kidnapped by Mysterio and infected with the Venom Symbiote, which proceeds to take over him over the course of several days/weeks.Forceful Kiss: Screwball pulls this on Yu (while he's dressed as Spider-Man, of course) as an attention grabbing stunt for her livestream. Together they find a way to seperate the Venom from Peter and Yu passes the mask to Peter telling him he is his hero and the true spiderman. The criminals' car is driven into the webbed barrier, resulting in them and their car getting flipped upside down. Yusuke Osawa really gave this story his all, and as a stand-alone installment in what we now can regard as a Spider-Man multiverse, I've already got a huge soft spot for it.

A new villain appears a woman named Screwball who plants a bomb and challenges Spiderman to find it on her livestream. During the battle with Venom, Yu is able to give his mask to the stunned Venom, reminding him of who he is. Osawa gives readers a story that stands out and plays on the strength of what Spider-Man is and can do.And after making it out by the skin of his teeth, Yu finds himself wrapped up in an escalating series of challenges wherein he must play the role of Spider-Man with only his suit, web-shooters, and rock-climbing expertise to guide him. Additionally, Aaron Davis appears as a taxi driver, going unnamed but identifiable by both his appearance and his allusion to his Spider-Man fanboy nephew.
