Spray it on and I get a bump of oakmoss and musk, then tobacco and creamy sandalwood, then lavender and rose. This came out the year of my birth and i must say this reminds me of Paco Rabanne pour homme a bit in feel and they share quite a few common notes.
One at the bank with a middle-aged lady teller, the other at the gas station with a 38 year old lady cashier. this frag is glorious in it's power, smoothness, strength, versatility, blendability and composition. will bring the greatest pleasure to men who love adventure and good company, who are bold, continually dignified and always honest. I normally would not age a cologne but I have a hard time seeing a man under 30 liking or pulling off Boss Number One. The general feel of this scent as it progresses is one of simplicity and a mature sweetness and freshness.Number One swaggered into your living room, arms wiggling like Conor McGregor and apologized to ABSOLUTELY EFFIN NO ONE. This new version with silver cap is great, bottle is more elegant than the vintage but I think that they should have kept that signature vertical lines.
To me, a lot closer to Aramis as opposed to Givenchy Gentleman; the latter of which I intensely disliked while using it. I thought I found myself a bottle of the classic stuff but on spraying, this smells nothing like what I used back in the 90s. As with anything, I understand that this is not what it originally was when it first came out in 1987. Gorgeous fragrance, slightly soapy and somewhat fresh at the top, mellows down to a LUSCIOUS honey/tobacco/patchuli combo! Last Summer I went through my huge fragrance collection and found some oldies that were wasted after so many years exposed to light.
Paco Rabanne pour homme was my fathers signature scent and Number one gives me that same vibe of an adult being in the room. There are many notes dancing around at the beginning, and the amount of an old school masculinity may even scare some of you off, but if you wait for about 40 min you get a beautiful clean soapy tobacco scent. You get a very lovable dry down with a very strong sweet tobacco, oak moss, sandalwood, patchouli and musk - the inevitable 5 of the 80's. A Timeless Classic and Elegant Scent with Main Theme: Honey that has High Quality and Well-blended Composition. If I where to smell this on someone I would probably reply with 'well, you certainly are wearing perfume' with no extra qualifiers added.
