About this deal

Would love your recommendations on such books which deal with real life spirit experiences and extra terrestrial encounters. Their odyssey is chronicled by the eldest sibling and is an unabridged account of a supernatural excursion. It took some time for the seven mortals involved, decades to realize, ultimately, they were glad to meet them. In 1970, Roger and Carolyn Perron purchased what seemed to be the home of their dreams: the Arnold Estate, located just beyond the village of Harrisville, Rhode Island.

The subject of the 2013 film “ The Conjuring,” the story of the house in which Andrea Perron spent ten years of her life has been a closely-guarded experience. The Perrons were aware that after interactions they felt depleted, and often slept (unnaturally) more. Andrea Perron did the next to worst possible thing in writing this disjointed chaos in the third person. And not just in the house, a cigarette flew through a closed window in the car and burned one of the girls pants, there were chimney fires, and oil burner problems.

It was a presence of comfort and caring; one who never meant to frighten or disturb youngsters in their own beds. I find it disorienting that while the book is generally chronological- it starts with why they needed to move, and the effort it took, and only just touched on the Warrens, so far- (I think they're in the second book).Since it was over three centuries old, many people had died there over time (although there were an unusual number of suicides I think). Part memoir, part documentation, part hagiography, part philosophical exploration, it is difficult to follow.

It was the perfect place to raise a family, according to the owner, though he failed to disclose a crucial element of the experience he endured as an occupant. Perhaps she is the one who tucked the girls in at night, the one who’d loved them well and tenderly kissed their foreheads and smelled of flowers and fruit. Often when there was a scary incident and they screamed and banged things for attention, no one else in the house could hear it. If it was cut back to a few chapters on topic and developed a story line with progression it would have been much better. If there was one thing I would wish had been different with this book, I really would have liked is the floor-plan of the farm.

Another (or the same) held the end of a board up during a storm when one of the kids had to mend a fence. This tale is an inspiring testament to the resilience of the human spirit on a pathway of discovery: an eternal journey for the living and the dead. Aside from the poor writing quality it's hard to take this as a "factual" account, considering that Bathsheba Sherman never lived in this house, never went on trial for allegedly killing a baby and did not commit suicide. It has proved to be quite an excursion in its own right, spawning some nightmares while exhuming our memories of the dead. They flew down the chimney, they didn't bite anyone, they were not rabid and the author tells with glee of they uses tennis rackets to kill them.
