About this deal

Even though we are used to Lzzy playing the guitar in most songs in "Break In" she plays the piano and in Carnival Of Madness Amy Lee sang with her on stage cause she loved the back vocals of the song and she wanted to sing it! She and her band mates also crafted heavier numbers, including "I Miss The Misery," with its start-stop chorus rhythm and confrontational lyrics and “Rock Show,” which blazes with euphoric vocals and motivational riffs.

It clocks in at 4:45, which makes it the longest song on the album, but it’s very easy to get lost while listening to it, making it seem like 4:45 just isn’t enough. The Strange Case Of…’ opens with “Love Bites (So Do I)”, which, in my opinion, is up there with the best hard rock songs; it’s loud, energetic and full of attitude. The ballads are perfectly nice as rock ballads, though some of them (eg here's to us) sound like melodies I have heard before. The song is very much a love song, based on its lyrics of the age-old story of a girl who is only truly happy when she’s by her man, just told in a very original and modern style. Not that many of our readers watch it, I mean I don’t… but if you do, you may have heard the song ‘Here’s To Us’ featured on Glee, now of course the album version features some choice words not suitable for that timeslot, so it was somewhat rewritten for the show. I’m happy to say that it was well worth the wait as this album is exactly what I’ve been looking for this year; it covers it all, there’s balls out rock, there’s amazing ballads, modern rock songs and there’s balls out rock. Lastly we get another tempo ballad in "Here's To Us" which is a nice way to close an enjoyable record, rather surprisingly this is the albums second single, which in my view is an odd choice as it isn't strong enough. It is a soft song, acoustic song, not quite a ballad, but sounding like it would have been released in the 90’s when bands like Cranberries and Third Eye Blind were releasing hits. This makes it a unique song that displays influences the band has never shown…it’s just not the kind of song a guy would like to be caught singing along with.

It’s been three years since the release of Halestorm’s debut in 2009 and this new album has been a long time coming! It sounds like they have a Theremin in the background which is a brilliant touch (Theremins were often used in old horror films). When I was in college, I had no money, and it was the Golden Age of Post Punk/NewWave (Banshees, Cure, Bunnymen, etc. Certain goods and services are exempt from the right to cancel, including prescription medicines, personalized goods, rapidly perishable items, and more. Being married to a fellow former misfit kid, I can look back with relief that I found someone who gets me, and I, her. It is impossible not to instantly get in to the song, thanks to Arejay Hale’s pounding drum beat and the tough-as-nails guitar riff that follows.

From the first time that Ι listened to Halestorm I was pretty sure that this band was going to blow our minds! After scoring two top 10 singles (“I Get Off” and “It’s Not You”) from their self-titled debut and touring steadily for two years with acts as diverse as Shinedown, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Megadeth, Papa Roach, Godsmack and countless others, Pennsylvania quartet Halestorm are back with their second full-length, The Strange Case of…. With echoes of Garbage and Hole, Lizzie Hale has given us a stormer of an album, which grabs you from the very first track and doesn't let go until the last track fades away. Though a short song, it gets its point across with its lyrics, and leads the albums listener in to the next track; the piano ballad Break In.

Hyde based on the remarkably natural way she confers sweetness the usually biting tone of her voice. The first is an energetic song which would also be a good closing song, but then you have a great duet, then finish off with a mid-tempo track which is a brilliant closer. Then when the band finished the Uproar Tour in May 2011, they entered the studio with producer Howard Benson (3 Doors Down, Seether, Three Days Grace) and tracked one of the heaviest songs of their career, “Love Bites (So Do I),” which went on to earn them a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. I was eagerly anticipating this album after thoroughly enjoying their debut, lead single "Love Bites (So Do I) is the heaviest and most uptempo track they've made, close to being a heavy metal track.
