About this deal

His adoptive dads and cousin are the only ones who support him; everyone else, including the sheriff, thinks he’s responsible for Lola’s disappearance. Now she happily dwells in an entirely make-believe world of blood, death, madness, murder and mayhem. Every so often there was someone else's you'd suspect as the disturbed one until a certain point where you think "okay now I've got it, y'all can't trick me into suspecting anyone else anymore! I could almost hear the dolls scratching at their case and feel their tiny cold hands on my legs… Gosh, it gives me shivers just thinking about it. As soon as the white, English teen arrives she encounters hostility from nearly everyone, perhaps partly due to the fact that the family is still grieving her cousin Rebecca, who died some years earlier.

These dolls are no bigger than a matchbox, but have hauntingly painted faces and were supposedly invloved in the death of one of the girls at the school.Read this alone, in the dark, with a single flickering candle, and you’re in for a treat of a Halloween! I guess I just wanted like an origin story or something, but they were pretty much just there to be an evil plot point. While this is clearly written for a younger audience, I would still widely recommend it to anyone who enjoys creepy doll stories.

It really couldn’t have been easy for her, especially because of the way she felt partly responsible for what happened.Even though the main characters are teens and some a bit younger, Frozen Charlotte is definitely more of a YA or adult read. I decided to read maybe just the first few pages to get a feel for the writing and atmosphere of the book but reading the ‘first few pages’ was a huge understatement. I'd understand if one would be a bit sceptical when you know it's about talking dolls and involves a Ouija-board but TRUST MEEEEEEEE, it's so much more and put together so smartly. The creepiness levels of the book are super high, which is amazing for this genre, because it's not always easy to achieve the 'shivers-down-your-back' sensation. Pip has known and liked Sal since childhood; he’d supported her when she was being bullied in middle school.
