About this deal

Do I have to put a smart thermostat on all radiators or should I not bother on the hallway, and maybe the bathroom?

It seemed obvious that individual control of every room was the holy grail but it's been a long time coming. Whereas a home office could be on in the day to 21degC and off at night and even off on days when a homeworker goes into the office. but rather than the other 3 rooms being OFF completely and left to just drop in temp entirely, but rather set their thermstats to 18/19 just so that a trickle of heat keeps them ticking over? and they are often like some sort of pebble with no corners I find it all pretty weak think it will date and become .

Being able to set the temperature in Celsius, which makes more sense than a number between one and seven, or one and five if you have a newer thermostat radiator valve. In general, somewhat disappointed with the control characteristics of the system, can only describe the radiator stat's action as "on/off" control, can not see any attempt at achieving "proportional" action as was quite normal with the old dumb TRV's they are replacing, radiators are either piping hot or off, no modulated "in between" point.

In the Community Tab and in fact in the comments below my original video you’ll find a wealth of recommendations from everyone on the systems that work for them. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Perhaps the hub has been struggling to get wifi connectivity from the router to update the schedules over the cloud. We also have a newborn premature baby so want to be able to ensure quite specific temperatures in the room the baby is in ie. Another great way to personalise your home heating with your Wiser system and take better care of the planet.Out of interest, for others in the home that want to control the system on their phone, do you give them your login details and they log in to the app that way, or should they register as being 'not the home owner'? Most homes already have an oversized boiler and turning off some rooms means the demand gets even smaller, which can lead to the boiler cycling. first have you checked that the small pin on the valve body is moving freely, you should be able push it down so that the flow stops when released it should pop up again and flow restarts? With this, you can ensure the baby’s room is at a safe temperature at all times, or the kids’ rooms are warmed up for when they get home from school. It comes with adapters in case your radiator fitting isn’t instantly compatible, brackets to hold it in place and batteries, which have a long two-year life.

and they are often like some sort of pebble with no corners I find it all pretty weak think it will date and become irritating like say. I want my bedroom and the bathroom warming up a bit before I get up and go to bed; my back bed room is unused but don't want it getting damp; hall and kitchen low level heat for most of the day; lounge is where I want most heat. I assume you have purchased the single channel Wiser and have one roomstat together with your 5 smart TRVs.

Never-the-less, restricting what the boiler heats and when it is on is a very effective way to reduce gas use. In a nutshell, turning off the heating to a room does not affect the power output of radiators in adjoining rooms. Now Bram raised a really good point - about the danger of being tied into paid services (which is why he didn’t go with Tado) or just your system being rendered obsolete by the manufacturer going bust.
